Vision

With a vision of providing home ownership in an elegant, urban resort-style setting, the partners converted Harbortown from luxury apartment homes to condominium homes beginning May 2002.

Renovations include exterior enhancements such as entrance signs of granite and bronze, supplemental landscaping and elegant awnings.

Interior renovations include grand lobbies in the Spinnaker and Great Lakes Towers, community rooms and hallways.

Future plans include the development of new townhome style and high-rise condominiums.  In it’s completed state, Harbortown will total 1,000 residential units. A new health club and restaurant are also planned.

J. Ronald Slavik
Chairman of the Board, J & J Slavik, Inc.

Ron Slavik has been continuing the legacy of his father, the late Joseph P. Slavik, for the past 28 years, investing in the city of Detroit and helping shape its future through imaginative utilization and revitalization of property. 

Slavik also serves as Chairman of the Board of FOURMIDABLE, a leading Michigan property management firm with a portfolio of 34 rental, condominium and cooperative communities, of which ten are located in the city of Detroit.  Property management, sales, finance and development have been the hallmarks of Slavik’s career.

Detroit revitalization projects under Ron’s leadership include Grayhaven Marina Village,

The Lofts at Rivertown, Harbortown, Village Park (in historic Indian Village), and the restoration of the Himelhoch Building, creating residential apartments for seniors.’

Among Slavik’s most impressive accomplishments is his ability to assemble talented, experienced Real Estate professionals who produce spectacular results under his leadership. 

Slavik is a licensed Real Estate Broker, licensed Security Dealer and a Certified Property Manager from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).

Slavik serves on the Board of Directors for the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, the Board of Directors of the College for Creative Studies, Detroit, and is Vice President of the Michigan Apartment Association.  Slavik has served as an Executive Board Member of the Boy Scouts of America, Detroit Area Council for more than two decades.  Slavik has been an active member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and was named “Top 100 Executives” by Crain’s Detroit Business, 1995.
